Airbnb Open is the annual gathering of Airbnb hosts to share and learn from each other. It is usually held in San Francisco, but this year it was held in Paris.
Around 6,000 Airbnb hosts from cities across the world attended the Open, which took place from November 12-14. The Open provided an opportunity for the Airbnb host community to gather in one place and connect with their fellow hosts from around the globe. Over two days, they shared tips and stories about hosting, heard from hospitality experts and together helped shape future innovations in hospitality and travel.
The main purpose of the event was to thank the Airbnb owners for the hospitality offered to millions of visitors 2015.
Airbnb’s biggest event ever
As president of “Association of Owners of Tourist Apartments – Houses in Greece” George Kanellopoulos, who attended the conference in Paris told Tornos News, it was the biggest event that has been organized by Airbnb ever.
The event was held in a huge space at Paris Parc de la Villette suburb.
Each day was divided into free sessions, which should be reserved for participation and meals and the cost of participation was 270 euros.
The vision of Airbnb
Among the event’s highlights, were the speeches by Airbnb CEO and co-founder Brian Chesky, who revealed the vision of Airbnb and the global impact it has caused for property owners around the world.
He talked about hosting, giving several tips how could a landlord to leave best memories to the visitor. Other speakers focused on Airbnb accounts security, ensuring safe accommodation of visitors and developing visitor hosting into a highly profitable business.
Furhtermore, new features and innovations of the Airbnb’s website, such as smart pricing and change of minimum stays for specific periods during the year, were presented for the first time.
