The Athens Acropolis Museum ranks among Europe’s top 10 museums on travel website TripAdvisor’s annual Travelers’ Choice awards. Travelers’ Choice awards honor top travel spots worldwide, based on millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers.
The 2015 European list ranks the Musee d’Orsay in Paris, France as the best museum in Europe, while the Acropolis Museum which opened in 2009 and showcases about 4,000 objects from the Acropolis, ranked 8th.
The overall 25,000 square meter building of the new Museum of Acropolis was designed by architects Bernard Tschumi and Michalis Fotiadis and is located in the historic area of Makrygianni, 300 m southeast of the Acropolis hill.
Museum award winners were determined by implementing an algorithm that took into consideration the quantity and quality of reviews for museums worldwide.

According to TripAdvisor, the ten best museums in Europe are the following:
