Tour operators add 17 Greek hotels for 2016

Thomas Cook will inaugurate the new Casa Cook chain operation in May 2016 with a Greek hotel, the Casa Cook Rhodes hotel

Major tour operators decided to add in 2016 at least 17 hotels  to the networks under their control in order to strengthen their tourism market shares in Greece.

Quite characteristically, all three new hotel networks founded by the tour operators TUI, Thomas Cook and Fti Touristik and scheduled to make their first appearance in the global tourism market during 2016, include Greek units.

New Thomas Cook chain

Thomas Cook will inaugurate the new Casa Cook chain operation in May 2016 with a Greek hotel, the Casa Cook Rhodes hotel (formerly Sunprime White Pearl), located on the popular Greek island.

The tour operator announced that, by the summer of 2017, it will add another three hotels to its chain portfolio, without indicating the countries that they will be located at.

TUI network of hotels

From its part, TUI Group includes in its 2016 portfolio a new network of hotels aimed at families and called Family Life by Tui.

The network begins operation with a strong Greek presence incorporating Family Life Kerkyra Resort in Corfu, the Family Life Creta Paradise by Atlantica in Crete, Family Life Blue Lagoon Village Deluxe in Kos, Family Life Marmari Beach by Atlantica Kos and Family Life Aegean Blue By Atlantica in Rhodes.

Labranda by Fti Touristik

Fti Touristik will also launch in 2016 the operation of the new Labranda chain, which also includes a Greek hotel, Labranda Marine Aquapark Resort in Kos.

Furthermore, large tour operators strengthen their position in Greece, as far as their existing hotel chains are concerned.

Thomas Cook Sentido Chain

For example, Thomas Cook will add for the first time in 2016 a Thassos hotel to its Sentido chain, the Sentido Thassos Imperial.

By integrating a total of 3 hotels next year, the chain’s portfolio will reach a total of 69 units.

Greece, Spain and Turkey make up the lion’s share, with 16 units operating in each of these countries.

Moreover, Thomas Cook will add another 5 units to its Smartline hotels network in 2016, three of which are located in our country and specifically in Corfu, Crete and Rhodes.

Sensimar Hotels chain

Tui will add 16 new luxury hotels to its Sensimar Hotels chain, six of which are in Greece.

The new hotels are Sensimar Lindos Bay and Sensimar Lindos Bay in Rhodes, Sensimar Palazzo del Mare and Sensimar Oceanis Beach Resort and Spa in Kos, Sensimar Elounda Village in Crete and Sensimar Nissaki Beach Resort and Spa by Atlantica in Corfu.

Finally, Der Touristik group aims to increase the number of units in our country, through its Greek subsidiary, Der Touristik Hotels and Investments Greece and, at the same time, enhance its presence, by turning its franchise contracts with hotels into long-term rental contracts.
