Athens hotel prices showed a 15% increase in November 2015 compared to last year, with the average room rate per night at 91 euros against 79 in November 2014, the monthly survey of trivago reported.
Despite the increase, Athens remains among the cheapest European capitals since the price of 97 euros per night stays well below the 121 euros that is the corresponding value for Italy. Consequently, Greece’s competitiveness in terms of prices remains for another month in the spotlight.
On an international level, the biggest changes have been effected in Rome, Monaco, Madrid and Istanbul. In all these destinations, 20-30% cuts were made on a monthly basis.
