HotelBrain enters Serbia and Montenegro

Hotel Leopold I in Novi Sad

By using a Renaissance hotel in the famous castle of Novi Sad as a”stronghold”, the Greek company hotel management HotelBrain initiated operations in the Balkans and particularly the markets of Serbia and Montenegro.

Its entrance into the two neighbouring countries was heralded by the establishment of a new  office in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, and was accompanied by signing two hotel managements and a new development project.

Management contracts

HotelBrain Serbia & Montenegro and its local partner Nicola Senesi signed hotel management contracts with the five-star Hotel Park, located in the Novi Sad district, encompassing 225 rooms, along with five restaurants and bars as well as with the renovated Hotel Leopold I, on the shores of Danube, with 50 rooms, three restaurants and a state-of-the-art wellness centre.They also agreed on developing and later managing the boutique hotel Villa Park in Novi Sad, which will lead later to another management agreement upon its completion.

Its entrance into Serbia and Montenegro was heralded simultaneously with the establishment of a new  office in the Serbial capital, Belgrade situated at Radovana Dragovica 12 and accompanied by the signing of two hotel managements and a new development project.

Growing demand

As HotelBrain’s president and founder, Panos Paleologos commented: “The ever growing demand for efficient third-party hotel management in the Balkans is substantial. HotelBrain Serbia and Montenegro is ready to share its expertise on matters of hotel management.” Asked whether the company will need new capital to implement its plans, Mr. Paleologos, replied with humor that “we hope at some point to need more capital, but at this time, there appears no such necessity”.

“We are ready to do three main things for hoteliers in this region: increase the level of service, increase the reputation and increase the educational level of professionals“, the managing director of HotelBrain Serbia & Montenegro, Nicola Senesi said on his part and added that the company’s principal aim is to increase the level of hospitality in Serbia and Montenegro.

Critical contribution

The critical contribution of Greek tourism industry enterprises such as HotelBrain exporting expertise was highlighted by the Director General of Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) Alexander Lamnidis, who attended the event. He also stressed that HotelBrain is an example business entity as well as a service model in relation to the quality standards required for the total upgrade the Greek tourist product.

The event was attended by executives from the Greek National Tourist Organization’s representation in Serbia and the Greek Embassy in Belgrade, as well as agents and representatives of the Serbian tourist industry and the business community of Novi Sad.

Managing 120 hotels

HotelBrain was established in 2000 on the island of Santorini but has already taken over the administration of over 120 hotels in Greece as well as Lebanon, Turkey and Cyprus, becoming the largest hotel management enterprise in Greece as well as in the Mediterranean area.

Last August, it claimed the title of Europe’s Leading Hotel Management Company at the 22nd World Travel Awards and, two years earlier, was added to the global network of Endeavor Greece, an international non-profit organization, which selects and supports the tourism enterprises exemlifying the greatest potential worldwide. Furthermore, Luxembourg-based investment fund SouthBridge Europe signed a deal with the Greek company to finance the development of its sustainable growth plan with three million euros.
