Skiathos Municipality approved the island’s tourism promotion program with a €200.000 budget for 2016.
After a successful tourist season in 2015, the Municipality has decided to double the budget to promote the island abroad as well as in the Greek market, adopting the Tourism Promotion and Development Commission’s proposals, aiming at further tourism development on the island.
Alternative forms of tourism
In this direction, Skiathos Municipality intends to participate for the first time in tourism exhibitions focusing exclusively on alternative forms of tourism.
Moreover, there will be collaboration with one of Greece’s largest marketing & strategic planning companies, CIVITAS, which will help design and implement tourism promotion and development of the island on two levels, the short-term for 2016 and the long term for the next four years.
