Four quite remarkable distinctions were won by Greece in Conde Nast Traveller “Readers’ Travel Awards 2015” questionnaire, in which the readers were asked for the 18th year to choose the best that the travel world has to offer – from hotels and spas to airlines and airports.
The Greek islands were announced as this year’s best in the world in the “Favorite Islands” category while in the general favorite travel experiences vote, the Amanzoe hotel in Porto Heli ranked 11th (Score: 90.9412), the Greek islands ranked 12th (Score: 90.6942) and Greece was awarded the 42nd place (Score: 87.21) in the World’s Top 100.
Specialized categories
In more specialized categories, among the best hotels in Europe, Turkey and Russia, the Amanzoe ranked in the second position and among the best countries in the world, Greece found itself in the 5th position, on a global scale.
“The islands of Greece, as a tourist destination, won yet another international award”, the Greek Tourism Ministry said in an announcement.
The readers were asked to rate their choices according to various criteria, such as service, design and value for money. From their responses, Conde Nast Traveller calculated the average mark on each criterion, and used this to rank their favorite travel experiences.
